Why Merchant Navy?
Benefits That Change Your
Life
Nine reasons cadets choose the sea over a desk. Tap any card and start your application
now.
The sea cures all ailments, and a Merchant Navy career cures all financial worries. I went from a
small town to earning ₹12 Lakhs a month — all because I filled one form.
Capt. Rajesh Sharma
Master Mariner, 15 Years Experience
"
I was just a 10th pass student from a village. Today, I have visited 47 countries and my family
owns a house in the city. Merchant Navy changed my destiny.
Vikram Singh
2nd Officer, HBIMS Alumni
"
While my friends were struggling for ₹15,000 jobs after graduation, I was earning ₹4 Lakhs per
month at 22. The best decision I ever made was joining HBIMS.
Ankit Patel
3rd Officer, Batch 2023
"
Don't wait for the perfect moment — take the moment and make it perfect. I applied at 18, and by
21 I was standing on the bridge of a cargo ship crossing the Pacific Ocean.
Priya Verma
Deck Cadet, First Woman from Her District
"
Your background doesn't matter — your determination does. The ocean doesn't ask where you come
from. It only asks if you're brave enough to sail. Apply today, thank yourself tomorrow.
Commodore A.K. Jha (Retd.)
Maritime Industry Veteran
"
A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for. And neither are you. Step
out, set sail, become the story your village will tell for generations.
John A. Shedd
Author & Inspiration For Sailors Worldwide
"
The expert in anything was once a beginner. Every Captain you admire started exactly where you are
right now — with one form, one decision, one leap of faith.
Helen Hayes
First-Generation Cadet Mantra
"
I came from a town no one had heard of. Today my passport is full of stamps and my mother sleeps
in a house I built. Merchant Navy didn't just give me a job — it gave my family a future.
Arjun Mehta
Chief Officer · HBIMS Alumni, Batch 2019
"
The biggest risk is not taking any risk. In a world that's changing fast, the only strategy that
is guaranteed to fail is not taking chances. Sail. Earn. Live the life others only dream of.
Mark Zuckerberg
On Why Bold Choices Win

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
